AI Interview Assistant for Google Meet

Google Meet runs entirely in the browser, which makes it quick to join and easy to get wrong on audio. Interview Copilot listens to the call through your computer's audio and drafts answers from your resume while you talk to the interviewer.

How the copilot works with Meet

Meet has no separate app to configure. The interviewer's voice plays from the Meet tab in Chrome (or another browser) through your system audio output, and the copilot desktop app captures that output. It produces a live transcript, separates speakers and spots each question.

Drafts are built from the resume and job description you loaded before the call. A question like "why do you want to join us" gets a short outline tied to the role, and a behavioral question gets a STAR answer from your actual experience.

Chrome tab audio: what to check

Because Meet lives in a tab, a few browser details decide whether the copilot hears the call.

  • Make sure the Meet tab is not muted (right-click the tab and check for Unmute site).
  • In Meet, open More options, then Settings, then Audio, and check the Speakers field matches the headphones or speakers you are using.
  • Keep your system default output on the same device so Chrome's audio goes where the copilot is listening.
  • Close other tabs that play audio, such as videos or music, so the transcript only contains the interview.
  • If Meet asks for camera and microphone permission, allow it in Chrome before the interview starts.

Setup steps

Install the desktop app, sign in, and add your resume and the job description. Then open a test meeting at meet.google.com, play a short clip in another tab or ask a friend such as Rahul to join, and confirm the copilot transcript shows their speech labelled as a separate speaker.

If you may be asked to present, use Present now, then A window or A tab, rather than Your entire screen. Presenting a single tab or window keeps the copilot off the shared view.

Privacy and responsible use

The copilot uses the call audio only and does not record the interviewer's video. InterviewPlan AI is SOC 2 compliant, and unused data is automatically deleted after 90 days.

Each employer sets its own expectations for interviews. Read the invite and any candidate guidelines, and follow each employer's interview rules. Use the drafts as prompts to remember and organise your own experience, then answer in your own words.

Pricing

The free plan gives you 5 live Copilot minutes and 100 AI credits without a card, which is enough to test a Meet call. Interview Copilot then costs $5 per hour, including 200 AI credits per hour. Hours and credits never expire, taxes are included, and you can pay through Stripe or bank transfer.

FAQ

Questions people ask about google meet.

Do I need a Chrome extension for Google Meet?

No. The copilot is a desktop app on Windows or macOS. It listens to the audio your computer plays, which includes the Meet tab, so no browser extension is required for live interview help.

Does it work if I join Meet from Edge or Safari?

Yes, as long as the call audio plays through your computer. The browser does not matter to the copilot; the audio output device does. Test with the free minutes first.

The copilot is not hearing my Meet call. What should I check?

Check the Meet tab is not muted, that Meet's Speakers setting matches the device you are listening on, and that your system default output is the same device. Then rejoin the test call.

Can the interviewer see the copilot when I present in Meet?

Not if you present a single tab or window. Choose Present now, then A tab or A window, and pick only what you need. Avoid presenting your entire screen, so the copilot window is never part of what the interviewer sees.
