Cisco Webex Interview Copilot

Banks, consulting firms and many enterprise teams still interview on Cisco Webex. Interview Copilot follows the Webex call through your computer's audio and drafts answers from your resume, so you can focus on the conversation rather than on remembering every project detail.

How it works on Webex

The copilot does not connect to Webex servers. It captures the audio your computer plays during the meeting, transcribes it live, labels who is speaking and drafts an answer when it detects a question.

Answers come from the resume and job description you load before the call. Expect STAR outlines for behavioral questions and concise talking points for role questions, all grounded in your own experience.

Webex audio device settings

Webex has its own audio settings that can differ from your system defaults, and this is the most common reason a transcript stays empty.

  • In the Webex app, open Settings (or Preferences on macOS), then Audio, and check the Speaker device.
  • Choose the headset or speakers you will actually listen on, ideally the same as your system default output.
  • Select Use computer audio when joining, not Call me, so the interviewer's voice plays through your computer.
  • Use the speaker test button in Webex and watch the copilot transcript react.
  • If you join from a browser link, the browser uses your system default output, so set that before joining.

Setup checklist

Install the desktop app and sign in, add your resume and the job description, then run the Webex audio test above. Join the meeting a couple of minutes early and keep the copilot window near your camera so you can glance at it without looking away for long.

If you are asked to share content, pick a single application in the Webex share menu rather than your full screen. That keeps the copilot visible only to you.

Privacy and responsible use

The copilot works from audio only and does not record the interviewer's video. InterviewPlan AI is SOC 2 compliant and unused data is auto-deleted after 90 days.

Follow each employer's interview rules. Some interviews, especially regulated industry assessments, come with explicit instructions about tools. Respect those instructions and use the copilot where it is appropriate.

Try it free with 5 live Copilot minutes and 100 AI credits, no card needed. Interview Copilot is then $5 per hour with 200 AI credits included per hour, hours and credits never expire, taxes are included, and you can pay by Stripe or bank transfer.

FAQ

Questions people ask about webex.

Should I choose computer audio or call-in for a Webex interview?

Choose computer audio. The copilot listens to the sound your computer plays, so if Webex calls your phone instead, the interviewer's voice never reaches the desktop app. Select Use computer audio when you join.

Does the copilot work with Webex in a browser?

Yes. The browser plays the call through your system default output, which the copilot captures. Set your default device before joining and test it with the free minutes. Close other tabs that play sound.

Can I use it on Webex for a panel interview?

Yes. The transcript labels each speaker, so you can see whether the question came from the hiring manager or another panelist before you answer. This helps when several people take turns asking follow-up questions.

Will sharing my screen on Webex show the copilot?

Only if you share your entire screen. Share a specific application instead and the copilot stays off the shared view. Pick the application from the Webex share menu before you start presenting.
