AI Interview Copilot for Slack Huddles

Startups and remote teams sometimes run informal interviews, trial days or contractor chats in Slack huddles. Interview Copilot can follow a huddle through your computer's audio, which is useful when an informal chat quietly turns into an assessment.

How it works in a huddle

Slack huddles play through the Slack desktop app or a browser on your computer. The copilot does not connect to Slack or your workspace. It listens to the audio your computer plays, transcribes the huddle and drafts answers when a question comes up.

Officially supported platforms are Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco Webex and phone calls. Slack is not among them, so treat huddle support as something to verify on your own machine with a free session.

Setup steps

Huddles start quickly, often with little notice, so set up before you are invited.

  • Install the InterviewPlan AI desktop app and sign in.
  • Add your resume and the role description or notes about the team.
  • In Slack, open Preferences, then Audio and video, and check the speaker device.
  • Start a huddle with a friend or a test workspace and confirm the copilot transcript picks up their voice.
  • Turn off Slack notification sounds during the interview so they do not appear in the transcript.

Huddle-specific tips

Huddles are casual, and questions are often mixed into conversation rather than asked formally. The speaker-labelled transcript helps you notice when someone like Arjun moves from small talk to "so how would you approach this", and the draft gives you structure for that moment.

If you are asked to share your screen in a huddle, choose a specific window. Many huddle interviews include a quick look at your portfolio or code, so keep that window ready and separate from the copilot.

Privacy and responsible use

The copilot uses audio only and does not record anyone's video. It has no access to your Slack messages or workspace. InterviewPlan AI is SOC 2 compliant and unused data is auto-deleted after 90 days. Follow each employer's interview rules, including informal ones the team tells you about.

Pricing

The free plan includes 5 live Copilot minutes and 100 AI credits with no card. Interview Copilot is then $5 per hour, each hour including 200 AI credits. Hours and credits never expire, taxes are included, and you can pay by Stripe or bank transfer.

FAQ

Questions people ask about slack huddles.

Does the copilot read my Slack messages?

No. It does not connect to Slack at all. It only captures the audio your computer plays during the huddle. It has no access to your messages, channels, files or workspace members.

Is Slack an officially supported platform?

No. Official support covers Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Cisco Webex and phone calls. Huddles can work through computer audio capture, so test with a free session first. Results can vary by setup.

Will Slack notifications confuse the transcript?

They can add noise. Pause notifications or set Do not disturb during the interview so the transcript only contains the conversation. Also close music or video apps for the same reason.

Can I use it for a huddle with several people?

Yes. The transcript labels each speaker, which helps when two or three team members ask questions in a loose order. The draft answers the most recent question, and you can scroll back to check what each person asked.
